Tieton River*
- Route:
Rimrock to Windy Point - Best Time:
September - River Classification:
Class III-IV

The birthplace of this spectacular river lies high in the snowfields of the Goat Rocks Wilderness. During the spring and summer, the meltoff from these snowfields is retained by a large earth dam, forming Rimrock Lake.
Then, every September, the Bureau of Land Reclamation opens the flood gates of the dam, sending 2,000 CFS down the Tieton Valley. There is only one word to describe this river and that is FAST. The Tieton is the steepest river that we run, with a 600 foot drop in elevation from launch to finish.
Guides, instruction, rafts, equipment, wetsuits, shuttle transportation, and, of course, our famous riverside lunch buffet (Currently testing out lunch options) are all included. Let us know if there is anything special you'd like and we'll try to accommodate you.
*Permission to raft the Tieton is granted by the Wenatchee National Forest.
